Retsch CryoMill
A cryogenic grinding mill designed to pulverize hard, soft, elastic, and temperature-sensitive materials by using liquid nitrogen cooling to embrittle samples before milling. Ensures preservation of sample properties by preventing thermal degradation.
Application / Use
- Size reduction of polymers, plastics, elastomers, and composites
- Homogenization of biological samples (tissue, plant material, seeds)
- Grinding of volatile, fatty, or heat-sensitive substances
- Preparation of materials for spectroscopy, chromatography, and elemental analysis
Key Features / Specs
- Integrated liquid nitrogen cooling for continuous embrittlement and grinding
- Grinding jars oscillate at high frequency for efficient pulverization
- Temperature monitoring and safety control system
- Reproducible particle sizes in the micrometer range
- Suitable for dry, wet, and cryogenic grinding modes
Material / Sample Type
Polymers, plastics, elastomers, composites, food samples, biological materials, pharmaceuticals, minerals.
